Why a clamp beats propping a tablet up

A tablet on a stand on the desk still takes up desk, and a tablet propped against something falls over at the worst moment. Clamping it to the edge frees the surface completely and puts the screen at eye level, which is the difference between following a recipe comfortably and craning over a worktop. It works the same beside a bed, on a shelf above a desk, or clamped to a headboard for films.

Where can I clamp it? Anything up to 6cm thick with an accessible edge: a desk, a kitchen cabinet, a bookcase, a shelf or a headboard. It needs no tools.

Will it mark my furniture? The clamp is rubber lined and the base pads are anti slip, so it grips without scratching.

Can it hold a monitor? No. It is rated to 1kg, which covers phones, tablets and portable monitors but not a full size screen. For those, the single monitor arm takes up to 10kg.
