Collection: LED Neon Signs

45 products

LED neon signs are the easiest way to make a wall look intentional. Words, shapes, symbols, whatever fits your thing. They throw a soft glow rather than harsh light, so they work as ambient lighting late at night as well as a bit of decoration during the day.

What people mean by 3D neon signs

Search for a 3D neon sign for a bedroom and you will find two different things. There is real glass tube neon, which is bent by hand, fragile and expensive. Then there is LED flex neon, which is what these are. A soft silicone light tube mounted on a clear acrylic backing that more or less disappears against the wall, so the shape reads as a solid glowing object instead of a printed panel. That is the look most people are after, without the glass or the price.

Because they use LED flex rather than real neon, they do not get hot and they do not shatter. They run from USB, and there is no mains adapter in the box, so they plug into a USB port, a laptop, or any phone charger you already own. Most mount with adhesive or the small hooks included, so no serious DIY and nothing that will cost you a deposit.

Choosing a neon light for your room

Animals are the most popular by a distance, so there are geckos, ducks, jellyfish, a chameleon and a capybara in here. Gaming and space designs suit a desk wall or a streaming backdrop. Cats have enough of their own following that they now have a separate page: Cat Neon Signs.

Not sure where to start? The Bongo Cat neon sign is the one everyone recognises and suits a streaming setup, while the Cloud Mirror neon sign is the softer pick for a bedroom or a vanity.

For a bedroom, go smaller and dimmable. For a party wall, a bar or a shop, go bigger and brighter. Sizes are listed on each product page, and every sign here is dimmable unless the page says otherwise.

Common Questions

Do LED neon signs get hot?

No. There is no glass and no gas in any of these, just LED neon strip on an acrylic backing, so they run cool however long they are on, with no heat and no flicker. That is also why they are fine in a child's room and fine to leave on overnight. Most of the range is CE certified and several are rated for outdoor use as well.

Is it real neon?

No, and that is rather the point. Real glass neon is bent by hand, fragile, expensive and hot to the touch. These are LED flex neon, a soft silicone tube mounted on clear acrylic that more or less vanishes against the wall, so the shape reads as a solid glowing object rather than a printed panel. Same look, none of the glass.

Does it come with a plug?

Most of these run on 5V USB and the sign itself does not include a mains adapter, so you will be using a phone charger, a laptop, a power bank or any USB plug already in the house. Worth checking you have a spare one before it arrives. The flip side is that a USB sign will run off a power bank at a party or behind a desk with no socket anywhere near it, which a mains one never will. Each product page says how that particular sign is powered.

How do I put one up without damaging the wall?

Hooks, usually. Most signs come with hooks or a chain and pre drilled holes, and a good number stand up on a shelf or a desk without touching the wall at all. No drilling, no filler and nothing that costs you a deposit. Our guide to fitting lights in a rented flat covers the same ground in more detail.

I want a cat one, or something I can change the colour of. What else is there?

Cats have their own page now: Cat Neon Signs, including Bongo Cat if it is going behind a streaming setup. If you want something that shifts through colours rather than glowing one shade, the LED strip and fairy lights range does that properly.
