Why a woven bedside lamp reads differently from a fabric one

A fabric shade gives you one flat wash of light. Woven bamboo does something else: the gaps in the weave throw a pattern onto the wall and ceiling behind it, so the lamp is doing two jobs at once. The PVC liner keeps that from turning into harsh stripes across your face when you are lying in bed. Bamboo is a natural material too, so expect colour variation, the odd darker node, and small pinholes where the weave is pinned. Those are not faults, they are what tells you it was not moulded in a factory.

Common Questions

Does it come with a bulb? The supplier data contradicts itself on this, one line says a bulb is included and another says none. Plan on buying an E27 LED bulb and treat one turning up as a bonus. Any warm white E27 will suit it.

Is it bright enough to read by? Not really, at 60 to 249 lumens it is a mood lamp. Fit a brighter E27 bulb if you want more, or look at the swing arm desk lamp for proper reading light.

Does it come with a UK plug? Yes, if you choose UK at checkout. The option is labelled Wattage Type in the dropdown but it is the plug standard.

Does it dim? Not on its own, there is a simple on and off switch. Put a dimmable bulb in it and use a dimmable socket if you want that.

What is the difference between Type A, B, C and D? They are four different woven shapes, shown in the photos. The light and the fitting are identical, only the silhouette changes.
