Why a clip on desk light beats a lamp with a base

A lamp with a base needs a patch of desk to stand on, and on a small desk that patch is valuable. Does it come with a plug? No, it runs from USB, so it plugs into a laptop, a monitor with a USB port or any USB phone charger plug.

Is it bright enough to work by? It is a 10W LED with ten brightness levels, from a soft evening glow up to proper reading and desk light.

Can I use it on a bedside table? It is built to clamp to a desk, so it is not really one for a bedside table with no edge to grip. For a lamp that stands on its own, the swing arm LED desk lamp sits on a weighted base and gives you a similar reach.
