Cassette Tape Desk Tidy | Pen Pots and Tape Dispenser

A desk tidy shaped like a cassette tape, standing on its end, with two open pen pots along the top and a working sticky tape dispenser built into the body. 17 by 11 by 5cm, three designs.

What you get

• Cassette tape shape, standing upright
• Two open compartments across the top for pens and pencils
• Sticky tape dispenser built in, with a cutting edge
• Three designs to choose from, matching the photos
• 17 by 11 by 5cm, so it takes up about the footprint of a paperback

Two jobs in the space of one

Most desk storage is trying to disappear. This is doing the opposite, and there is a place for one thing on a desk that is clearly there because you liked it. What makes it more than an ornament is the tape dispenser, because a roll of sticky tape is the single most annoying thing to keep on a desk: it rolls off, the end vanishes, and you end up picking at it with a fingernail. Building it into the body means the cassette replaces a pen pot and a tape dispenser at once, which is how something this daft ends up being the useful one.

Common Questions

Does the tape dispenser actually work? It does. The tape roll loads into the body and there is a cutting edge on the front, so you tear against it the way you would on a normal dispenser. The photos show how it opens.

How much does it hold? Two compartments, so a working handful of pens, pencils and a pair of scissors. It is a desk tidy rather than a way of clearing a whole drawer.

Does tape come with it? Assume not, and have a standard roll ready for when it lands. Any normal desk tape fits.

Which design should I pick? The three options in the picker match the photographs. Same shape, different labels and colourways, so choose on the image.

Is there a plainer one? The walnut pen holder is the quiet version, and everything else is in Desk Organisers.
