Why a glass ball lamp works on a desk and a bedside

Most desk lamps are built to aim light at a page, and they look like it. A glass ball lamp spreads its light softly all the way round instead, so it lights up the corner rather than glaring at you. Put it on cool 6000K for an evening of work, then drop to warm 3000K and dim it right down when you are done. One lamp, two jobs, and the desk looks better for having it there.

Common Questions

Does it come with a plug? It comes with a USB cable, so a phone charger plug, a laptop or a USB socket will run it.

Which shade colour should I go for? Cream and white are the calm Nordic options. Pink and orange are for when you want the lamp to be the colour in the room.

Can I move it around the house? It is a plug in lamp rather than a battery one, so it is happiest in one spot near a USB port. If you want something to carry from bedroom to garden, the wooden mushroom lamp has a battery built in.

What goes with it? The macaron glass table lamp has the same three colour dimming in a stained glass shade, so the two work well as a pair either side of a bed. More in our lamps collection.
