Why a pair of ambient lamps beats one desk light

A single lamp throws light from one direction, which gives you a bright side and a shadow side, and on camera it looks exactly like what it is. Two bars either side of the monitor fill both sides in, so your face and your desk are lit evenly and the wall behind picks up the colour. That is why streamers use them in pairs. The music sync is the part that actually gets used though. Put a track on and the bars move with it, which feels completely different from one static colour sitting there all evening.

Common Questions

Does it come with a plug? No. You get a USB cable but no mains adapter, so run it from your PC, a monitor USB port, or any phone charger you already own. It only draws 10W.

Does the music mode work with headphones? No. It reacts to sound in the room rather than to your PC audio, so it needs speakers playing out loud. If you game late at night in headphones, the bars will just hold whichever colour you set.

Does it work with Alexa? Yes, over WiFi through the Smart Life or Tuya app. Google Home works too, and there is a physical remote if you would rather not set up an app at all.

Is this one bar or two? Two, with both bases included. You are buying the pair, so there is no need to order twice.

Can I mount them on the wall? They are built to stand on a desk and no wall fixing is included. For a wall run, the neon LED strip is the better shout.
