This 12V LED neon strip light packs 120 LEDs per metre into a slim 6 by 12mm silicone rope, so it glows as one smooth line with no dots. It is IP65 rated, cuttable every 2.5cm, and comes in seven colours from 0.5m to 5m.

Most strip lights come in one length and one look. This one cuts every 2.5cm, so it fits a shelf edge, a doorframe or a staircase exactly, with no awkward overhang. The dense 120 LEDs per metre are what give it the proper neon look, and the slim silicone body bends round corners and into shapes for your own signs. Can I cut it? Yes, at the marked points every 2.5cm, so you can size it exactly.

Can it go outside? Yes. The rope itself is IP65 rated and sealed, so it handles rain on a patio or along a garden border. Two things are not sealed: the 12V power supply you add separately, which wants to stay indoors or live in a weatherproof box, and any end you cut, which needs capping before it goes out in the wet.

What powers it? It runs on a 12V DC power supply, which you add separately, so it suits anyone wiring up a custom run. If you would rather plug in and go, the neon LED strip lights come with an adapter and app control.

Which colour should I pick? Warm white for a soft glow along a shelf, and pink, blue or red for a bold neon look.
