How to build a pegboard organiser that actually works

Start with a set rather than loose parts, because a board with nothing on it is just a board. Then add pieces as you notice what keeps ending up on the desk. Pens go in a cup holder, headphones on an L hook, chargers in a small box, the notebook you use daily on a tilt shelf where you can see the cover. The trick is putting things where you reach for them, not where they look tidiest. A well built pegboard is genuinely faster to work at, not just prettier to photograph.

Common Questions

Do I get the board or just an accessory? Check the option carefully. Anything labelled SET includes a board with pieces. Anything named as a single item, like Black A Hook 5pcs or Black Storage Box M, is an accessory on its own to add to a board you already have.

What is the difference between standing and clamp-on? Standing sits on the desk on its own feet, so you can move it anywhere and it needs no fixing. Clamp-on grips the edge of the desk and frees up the surface completely. Clamp-on is the better pick on a small desk.

Can I add to it later? Yes, and that is the appeal. Buy a set now, add a shelf or a couple of hooks whenever something new needs a home. Everything shares the same peg spacing.

Is it just for desks? Not at all. It works brilliantly in craft rooms, on the back of a door, in a kitchen for utensils, or as a display stand at a market stall.

What finishes off the setup? Put the felt desk mat down first and hide the wires with the under desk cable tray, then build the pegboard up above it.
