The headset holder for a pair you want to keep

The reason headbands go slack is the narrow hook that most stands use. All the weight of the headset sits on a strip a couple of centimetres wide, and the padding under it compresses. A bar spreads that across the whole arc, which is why studio stands are built this way. It also means the headset sits level rather than tilting forward, so the earcups do not press against whatever is behind them on the desk.

Common Questions

Will it fit my headphones? The bar takes any normal over ear headband, and because it is wide rather than narrow it suits the big ones best, which is the opposite way round from most stands.

Does it take much desk space? More than a vertical stand, because it is 30cm across. That is the trade for supporting the headband properly, and if desk space is the thing you are short of, an under desk hook uses none at all.

Does it fold flat for a bag? It is a fixed frame, so it stays as it is. The upside is there is nothing on it to work loose over time.

Is the black glossy or matt? Matt, so it does not show fingerprints or catch the light from a monitor.
