Why a metal headset holder feels different

The whole job of a stand is to stay put while you take the headphones off without looking. A light plastic one moves, and you end up steadying it with your other hand every time, which defeats the point. Weight in the base fixes that. Aluminium also keeps the footprint small, because the mass is low down rather than spread out, so it takes less desk than a wide wooden block would.

Common Questions

Which finish goes with what? Black disappears on a dark desk and is the safe pick. Silver picks up a laptop or a light desk. Grey sits between the two, and all three keep the walnut on top.

Will it mark the headband? It should not. The rest is curved and the contact area is wide, so the weight spreads out. It is narrow hooks that leave a dent.

Does it have USB ports? Not this one, it is purely a stand, which is why there is no cable to run. If you want charging and lighting built in, the RGB stand with two USB ports does both.

Is it heavy enough for a big pair? Yes. The base is the heaviest part of it by design.
