How does the timer work? Switch it on and it runs for 6 hours, turns off for 18, and repeats every day.

Can I use them outside? Yes, the lights are IP65 rated, so they are fine on a patio or pergola. Keep the USB plug somewhere dry and covered.

Is a fabric curtain included? The lights are the curtain: strands of LEDs hanging from one top wire. Hang them over a plain wall, a window or a sheer curtain you already have.
