Why colour sync ambient lighting feels like a bigger screen

A normal backlight picks one colour and holds it. This one follows the picture, so a sunset on screen warms the whole wall and a night scene drops it to deep blue. The edge of the TV seems to melt into the room, which makes the screen feel larger than it is. For gaming it is even better, because explosions and neon menus spill out round the frame.
