Why a swirl lamp works switched off

Most lamps are invisible during the day. The spiral form catches ambient light from different angles as the sun moves, so it throws shifting shadow patterns across a shelf or a sideboard even when it is off. That is the reason this one gets bought for living rooms as much as bedsides, and why it suits both minimalist and cluttered rooms.

What it is good for, and what it is not

At 60 to 249 lm this is ambient and night lighting. It is not a reading or task light and it will not light a room on its own. Treat it as an object that glows rather than a lamp you work under.

Common Questions

Is it bright enough to read by? No. The 60 to 249 lm range is night light and ambient territory.

What powers it? USB at 5V, so a phone charger, laptop port or power bank all run it.

Does it get hot? No. It is low voltage LED, so it is safe on a bedside table overnight.

Is the spiral lamp fragile? No. The ABS body resists impact and yellowing, so it holds its shape and colour with handling.

Does it dim? There is a simple button switch rather than a dimmer. If you want adjustable brightness, the Lamps range has dimmable options.
